Making Resin Art can be hard. But turning it into a business can be harder. Here are the 4 P’s of the Marketing Mix you can focus on to help you succeed.

Product

This is the first P of marketing. It is the product you are creating to sell. The product has to stand out from the others in order for people to consider purchasing it. 

This is where differentiation comes into the picture. You may choose to specialize in a particular style of resin art - maybe petri art keychains, or anniversary plates. If you try and do everything and not specialize, it will be more difficult for people to recognize you and for you to stand out. If you do specialize, you can get really good at that one thing and perfect your skills so your product is awesome and everyone thinks of you for that thing

Price

This is the second P of marketing. Price is important, because even though your product is awesome, it must be priced so that the customer is willing to pay it. Price is calculated as such - Cost of Inputs + Labour (your profit) = Selling Price. What you think your time is worth is what will determine your selling price. Remember that if you are spending too much time on a project but under pricing it, then you are not making any money. If you are pricing it too high then the customer will not buy it or go to someone cheaper. Therefore you price must reflect your efforts keeping in mind what the customer is willing to pay. Having a more specialized and attractive product will help you get a better price

Place

This is the 3rd P of marketing. Where is your product visible to people, and how do they buy it? If you are only using Instagram to promote your business, then orders may be slower than if you made a post on Canva and promoted it on your family and other Whatsapp groups. Getting customers on Instagram is hard, because your product needs to be visible for people to buy it. You can try and make awesome reels that go viral, but spreading the fact that you make these products on various platforms like Whatsapp, Facebook and LinkedIn may help you get more customer

Promotion

Promotion is an ongoing activity, and involves a lot of hard work. You have to keep reminding people you make this. Since Resin Art isn’t an essential purchase but rather an emotional one, constant promotion on the platforms you have chosen are important. Now we have the power to make quality videos easily, and you’re very lucky if a Reel goes viral, so do your best to make quality reels that many people will share of a product that many people will want. Also take great photos for your other platforms, and learn Canva and use templates to create great photo posts that you can share. 


Some people argue that there is one more P - Packaging. Packaging is not so important as the product in this case, as people want what is inside the package and are not attracted to the package itself. But remember that a good packaging makes a good impression and will help you get repeat orders.
